HIV Awareness Summer Initiative- July 2024

To mark HIV Testing Week, Abbey Road Medical Practice partnered with All East Sexual Health to host a dedicated Sexual Health Awareness Day for our patients.

The event focused on promoting sexual health, encouraging regular testing and improving access to screening services. Free tests were offered for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhoea, helping to reduce barriers to testing and support earlier detection and treatment.

The event had a fantastic turnout, with patients responding positively to the services available. Working alongside All East Sexual Health allowed us to provide expert advice, accessible testing and a supportive environment for patients to discuss their sexual health.

We are proud to continue delivering community initiatives that promote prevention, early intervention and better access to healthcare.

Our community events form part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the NHS 10 Year Health Plan and reducing health inequalities within our patient population.

Through health awareness events, screening promotion, education and community engagement, we aim to reach patients who may face barriers to accessing healthcare, improve awareness of available services and encourage earlier prevention and intervention.

Our work supports the NHS ambition to move from sickness to prevention, provide more care within local communities and ensure that patients have fair and equitable opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing.
